Feast of St. Francis of Assisi:-
The titular feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the founder of the Franciscan Order and also the patron saint of Halbarga Church at Bhalki, Bidar, was celebrated in a grand scale on the 4th of October. At 9.30 a.m. the procession was started from the church to Halbarga town and at 11 a.m. festal mass began with the introduction by the superior of Anugraha Br. Victor Crasta, OFM Cap. Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Michael Miranda, the bishop Gulbarga Diocese was the main celebrant of the day with 19 priests and two deacons. The choir for the Eucharist was led by the post novitiate brothers under the leadership of Mr. Naveen Nazareth. After the mass felicitation and cultural programme was held. Fr. Joslie D’Silva the parish priest gave a brief description of 4 months activities in the parish. Fr. Lourdswamy welcomed everyone gathered. Bro. Victor Crasta proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Naveen Nazareth compered the programme. Chicken Biriyani was served to all the people.
