Anugraha school:
Kannada Rajyotsava
On 1st November 2016 Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated in Anugraha
school, Halbarga, Bidar. It is the day marked to celebrate the
unification of Kannada speaking people into a single State as Karnataka.
Rev. Anthony Raj, Parish priest of Pothnal, Raichur presided over the
celebration. He hoisted the National Flag and received the honour from
the students of Anugraha school. He spoke that Kannada culture,
literature and tolerance is well known all over the world, it has to be
enhanced. The people who worked for the Karnataka unification are to be
respected. The great persons like Kuvempu, Bendre, Gangubai Hangal so on
must emerge from the young generation. The school is the best place to
see that such persons should be recognised and encouraged. Then the
principal of the school Fr. Richard honoured the guests on the dais. The
community members of Anugraha Ashram were present for the celebration.
The staff sang the song Nada Geethe (dedicated to Karnataka) "Jai
Bharata jananiya tanujate jai he Karnataka Maathe". It was a splendid
day.
