Anugraha Ashram:
Canonical Visitation and Republic Day Celebration
On 25th January loving Fr. Provincial stepped in the premises of the
Anugraha Ashram, Halbarga, for the canonical visitation of the
fraternity, school and parish. The students of Anugraha School gave him
a warm welcome by saluting him with band. He set a dove free in the air
as a sign of inauguration of the Canonical visitation. After meeting the
individual friars, he visited the substation of St. Francis of Assisi
parish, Halbarga, viz. Hupla, Siddeshwar, Konmelkunda and Hunaji. The
parish priest, Fr. Prashanthkumar together with Sr. Preshitha DSS
organized the prayer service in the villages after which provincial
addressed the people.
On 26th January, as it was the 68th Republic day, the provincial was the
main guest of the event. The school staff and students had organized a
wonderful program. After the flag hoisting the provincial received the
salute. Thereafter, there was a cultural program which made the audience
wonder-struck. Every child in the school danced on the ground for some
patriotic song. The Principal, Fr. Richard Kadiwal honoured the
Provincial. The provincial, addressing the staff and student he said
that Anugraha provides the best stage to grow patriotism in the children
where every student must become a true Indian citizen. Some of the
parents who came to witness the program appreciated the growth and
creativity of the staff and students. There after sweets were
distributed to the students and the parents. Then the provincial met the
staff and encouraged them. Thus the canonical visitation ended with
community dialogue.
