Visit of Mission
Secretary: Anugraha Ashram, Bidar
Fr. Charles Furtado the Mission Secretary of the Province visited
the Anugraha Ashram, Halbarga, Bidar on 6th of January, 2017. The
community gave him the warm welcome in the winter morning. It was a
wonderful to see that he being with us to encourage us in the mission of
Gulbarga Diocese. He took keen interest in knowing the activities that
are conducted here as missionaries. He visited the Anugraha School on
7th, the principal Fr. Richard Kadiwal, staff and students gave him a
warm welcome. The band group of school saluted him and took by the
procession to the stage. After the common school assembly the principal
honoured and introduced the person to the assembly. He addressed the
staff and students saying that Anugraha is a blessing for this place,
make best use of the facility that are available in the school.
He also made a visit to the all the sub-stations of St. Francis of
Assisi Church, Halbarga viz. Hunaji, Siddeshwar, Konmelkunda and Hupla.
The parish priest, Fr. Prashanthkumar took utmost interest in taking him
to these villages. He celebrated the mass for the wellbeing of the
people and prayed for them. After the mass he spent sufficient time with
the village people knowing their life style, their living conditions ect..
In return catholic people liked him for his kind and loving attitude and
honoured him with a shawl and garland. The visit was very encouraging
all friars here. Please do visit again. The Anugraha community remains
grateful to the provincial and council members for Mission Secretary.
