Women’s Day at Anugraha, Halbarga:-
International Women’s Day was celebrated at Anugraha School, Halbarga, Bidar on 9th March, 2014. Around 400 women took part in the programme which was organized by the women themselves of Halbarga and surrounding villages. The director of ORBIT Fr. Bapu Santhosh was the president of the function. Mrs. Anitha Patel, the Headmistress of Durga Public School inaugurated the programme. Mr. Veerashetty Vatimbe and Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Gadde both lawyers spoke about the rights and duties of women and how to fight for it. Smt. Indhumathi Raghunath Gaikwad, (president of Halbarga Gram Panchayat), Shri Pandidha Madhakatti (Manager of DCC Bank, Halbarga), Mr. Rajendra Devaramani (women’s development officer, DCC Bank, Bhalki), Mrs. Kundanbai Narayansingh (vice – president, Orbit awaranes officer, Bhalki), Sr. Anitha, DSS (superior, Snehasadhan Convent, Halbarga), Fr. Francis Fernandes, OFM Cap. (Parish Priest, St. Francis of Assisi Church, Halbarga), Br. Victor Crasta, OFM Cap. (Principal, Anugraha School, Halbarga) were on the dais. Mrs. Jayashree (regional co-ordinator (ORBIT) for Halbarga) compered the programme. All were served with a sumptuous meal.
